So today I’m really proud of myself.

I had a phone assessment with the mental health team up here, and was asked a lot of questions, all of which I was honest about, and one being the first time I’ve told some sort of professional.
I’m very proud of myself, if a little scared, but I am ready to over come this and get the correct treatment for me.
I’m being referred to a psychologist, which actually sounds quite scary, but I’m ready to leave this in the past. :)

And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.

Last night at work somebody told me I looked “good, much better” because i looked like I’d lost “a lot” of weight.
And its really stressed me out because I was unaware I needed to lose a lot of weight, and now I’m worrying that I still need to lose a lot of weight.

how is it working in an industry wich is mainly lead by men? do you feel like it was hard to get your foot in the door, or you get treated differently?

Haha I never get asked questions like this!! But you’re right, the cocktail industry is very…. Male heavy. Other than me, there’s one other female who works on my bar.
I was very lucky I suppose that my bar manager, and the man who employed me seems to want to change the misconception that cocktails are a girly thing. A cocktail is a drink including 3 or more ingredients, not specifically some fruity, sugary, girly drink. The reason is a male dominated industry is because it’s targeted at women.
It is hard though, if I’m on the bar with my female Co worker, and a male Co worker, if somebody from the industry comes in, 9 times out of ten they will wait to be served by the male. I see it changing though, with drinks like the old fashioned becoming more popular.
But remind your male friends, cocktails are cool! They’re not all fruity and sweet, or served in stemmed feminine glasswear!!
Let’s get some more ladies up in this industry ayyyy.

I went to work in actual uniform tonight and everyone nearly shit themselves.
